Ingrid Betancourt Three Americans who were held hostage by Colombian rebels have written a book about the time they spent with the French-Colombian politician Ingrid Betancourt. The Americans and Ms Betancourt were held with 11 Colombian hostages by FARC rebels, and they had to stay in the jungle for years. In the book, the Americans say how they had to walk for miles every day, and they also said that life in the jungle was very boring.

One of the Americans also writes about Ms Betancourt, and says she was arrogant and treated them worse than the FARC rebels. Keith Stansell said "some of the guards treated us better than she did." Another American, Marc Gonsalves says that at the beginning he didn't like Ms Betancourt, but that they became good friends when she allowed him to share her radio.

Ingrid Betancourt has not said anything about the Americans' book, but she is writing a book about her time spent as a hostage.
